244 York Street
York, Maine 03909
Having spent most of her life living near the coast of
Maine, it is not surprising that Gloria Gustafson’s paintings reflect the ever
changing ocean, rugged coastline and beautiful flowers which inspire her. The artist strives to create a different
emotion with each new work.
Gustafson
began painting in 1968 and has studied with many prominent artists. She also studied art at Brevard College, Cocoa, Florida. Affiliated with several
galleries in New
England, she has won
numerous awards and is recognized as one of Maine’s most popular watercolorists. Her work can be found in private and
corporate collections worldwide, including:
two 5’x5’ and one 6’x4’ oil paintings as the frontspiece for Christus
St. Catherine Health and Wellness Center in Katy, Texas; two 6’x4’ oil
paintings on display at Portsmouth Hospital, Portsmouth, New Hampshire; one
6’x4’ oil painting created for the dining center at Brookwood Community,
Brookshire, Texas; an abstract mixed media in the collection of Lucie Arnez and
two watercolor paintings purchased by a director of MoMA.
Gustafson’s
work is always on display at her “Village Gallery”
