Bruce Deveau

Bruce Deveau has been working as a sign artist/graphic designer for over thirty years...and is getting pretty damn tired of it. This kitchen stool for the South Church Auction has been an excellent diversion and is one of the last pieces he will create before retiring his brushes sometime in early 2008.

The stool is inspired by the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour album and the John Lennon song "All you need is love." It is painted in gloss enamels and 22k gold leaf. Techniques include hand painting, airbrushing, hand lettering, and traditional surface gilding with special burnished gold effects.

Bruce is proud to be a member of South Church. He lives with his partner,James Funston, in Amesbury Mass.
